well shed can mean a lot of things but I have an American cocker spaniel,,
he doesn't shed fur but when he was about 7 monthes old he started sheddin his teeth,, we found them all over the floor
if this isn't the answer you lookin for you might want to specify what type of shedding
All dogs shed hair. If shedding or hair on your clothing are going to be problems for you, then a Cocker Spaniel may not be the best breed choice for you. They require plenty of grooming to maintain their beautiful coats in healthy condition and with lowered noticeable shedding. However, any dogs with longer silky coats will have more noticeable shedding than some other breeds, not because they shed more or more often, but because longer hair, like that on Cockers piles up faster.
Before you decide one way or the other on this breed, read up about the breed and its grooming needs and, if possible, visit a responsible breeder to see the actual grooming process and ask questions. They will be best able to help you evaluate if that breed will be a good fit for you and your family. You can find contact information for good local breeders through the AKC Chapter in your area.
Definitely, I had a cocker spaniel/fox terrier mix and she (Allie) shed a lot. Every summer, we got enough hair off of her to make a small sweater. The dog looked like Benjie but with big cocker spaniel eyes.
Fur, like every other dog.
---Actually, some dogs have hair, Bichons, Poodles, they have HAIR - not fur...so, not like every-other dog. But I do believe Spaniels have FUR.
Cocker spaniels are not shedless dog. There are several breeds of dogs that do not need to shed but cocker spaniels are not one of them.
I have a cockapoo (cocker spaniel/poodle mix) and no they do not normally shed.
I had a cocker spaniel and if you keep them washed and brushed I don't believe they do. I never noticed any hair around the house. Good dogs...I didn't have small children though.
Yes, they can shed a good amount of hair.
The reason people are allergic to animals is because they have a lot of dander carried in their fur, this can be solved for any dog-lover by buying a hypoallergenic which are breeds that have more hair-like fur like a poodle or a schnauzer.
Yes, Cocker Spaniels are a fairly popular breed with pet owners.
I don't know about all cocker spaniels but mine loves cats
if its a girl, Madi, that is my cocker spaniels name and it fits her perfect!
Yes, most cocker spaniels' hair will grow till t reaches the floor or even past that, so it is critical to cut your dogs hair and be on top of it.
There are but they're very rare it's usually to a pigmental mutation in the fur!
