While each species of ray and shark are just that, their own species, both rays and sharks are fish and both belong to the same subclass of cartilaginous fish known as Elasmobranchii. Skates, which look very similar to rays, are also part of this subclass of fish. For more information about the subclass Elasmobranchii, please see the Related Links.

Most jellyfish are not dangerous. The Man o' War has the ability to do some painful damage to your skin, but it is not a true jellyfish . . .
They're painful and potentially fatal.
They are quite different in their apearance but one common thing is they sting their predator or any thing that disturbs them.
a painful strike to the stung area and a possibility of paralyzment
The stingray has a barb at the base of its tail that inflicts a very painful sting. When threatened, a stingray is able to whip its tail quickly to sting an attacker. If stung by a stingray, the immediate treatment is to immerse the area in water that is as hot as can be tolerated, because heat breaks down the stingray toxin. A doctor should be seen because of the potential for infection and the possibility at a piece of the barb remaining in the body.
you go to the bottem or middle and then wait
Irukandji jellyfish are found in the waters surrounding Australia. These jellyfish are extremely venomous and can produce very painful stings. They are also very small, averaging about 1 cubic centimeter in size.

Other species of jellyfish are among the most common and important jellyfish predators, some of which specialize in jellies. Other predators include tuna, shark, swordfish, sea turtles, and at least one species of Pacific salmon.
Humans will avoid these to prevent a painful sting. Humans also study them.
