i think so. cuz in movies u nevr hear any1 address a first or second lieutenant
This depends. Second Lieutenants and First Lieutenants are both addressed verbally as "Lieutenant". The Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force have Second Lieutenants as the lowest Commissioned Officer rank. They are then promoted to First Lieutenants. The next rank for Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force Officers is Captain.
The Navy has the rank of Lieutenant but is a higher rank. Naval Officers begin as Ensign. They are promoted to Lieutenant JG (junior grade) and then to Lieutenant. The Navy Lieutenant is the equivalent of an Army Captain.
The Navy also has the Captain rank, but the Navy Captain is the equivalent of an Army Colonel.
Second Lieutenant is the higher rank
Lieutenant is a higher rank then Sergeant. The Lieutenant is a Commissioned Officer and the Sergeant is the Non-Commissioned Officer.
Company
They Get Demoted to second lieutenant
yes. Lieutenant is a commissioned rank, meaning they're the guys you have to salute, and it's quite a few ranks above sergeant
A Captain is higher in rank .
General.
Captain
Depends which branch of service. In the US Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps there are two Lieutenant ranks - Second Lieutenant (O-1) - which is the lowest commissioned officer rank - and First Lieutenant (O-2), which is the next rank up. Likewise in the Navy and Coast Guard, there are also two Lieutenant ranks - Lieutenant Junior Grade - which is pay grade O-2 and equivalent to a First Lieutenant in any other branch - and Lieutenant - which is pay grade O-3 and equivalent to a Captain in any other branch. After (Navy) Lieutenant comes Lieutenant Commander, which is equivalent to a US Army/Air Force/Marine Corps Major.
Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) is a higher rank than 1st Lieutenant (1LT). LTC is a fairly senior rank, while 1LT is a junior officer. In the US Army, (commissioned) officer ranks from lowest to highest are: Second Lieutenant First Lieutenant Captain Major Lieutenant Colonel Colonel Brigadier General Major General Lieutenant General General General of the Army (AKA "five star general" - this rank was only awarded to WWII era generals like MacArthur and Eisenhower) In the US Army, junior officers (Second Lieutenant - Captain) are referred to as company grade officers, while Majors-Colonels are referred to as field grade. General officers are also known as "flag officers" because they're entitled to fly a personal flag with their rank insignia on it.
Company Grade Officers.
Because a Major General use to be refered as a Sergeant Major General which made the Lieutenant General the higher rank.
