Actually neither term is correct. Tanzanite is a variety of the mineral Zoisite. Quartz and Diamond are minerals in their own right and there is absolutely no connection between the 3 of them. They all have unique physical and chemical properties. Anyone trying to sell "Tanzanite Quartz" is most likely selling Amethyst (Amethyst is the purple variety of Quartz) and anyone selling Tanzanite Diamond is simply being unscrupulous.
