Hate to be contrary, but there are approx 25 birds in the Snipe family, ranging from the Common Snipe to the Jack Snipes.

Even though dinosaurs have been extinct for 65 millions years, every unseen creature cannot be considered extinct. The snipe, a protected species is still alive. The snipe is very good at hiding, and as a result is rarely observed.
