AnswerIf something (God) exists then you should be able to experience his/her presence all around you. If this is not possible then it proves beyond a doubt that there is no such entity as God.

If God is mystical then it means that he/she has no power to interact with any element within this universe and is therefore useless.

An entity that becomes exhausted after six days of work and needs to rest will also be subjected to mortality, deterioration and decay. An entity that demonstrates emotions like happiness, sadness, love, hate, jealousy, prejudice, anger and selfishness is definitely not an absolute divinity (a God) but a representation of basic humanity. An entity that has a physical form with human features (created in his image and likeness) and requires a majestic (heavenly) abode, is definitely not (God) the absolute source of divinity.

Most scientists and scholars throughout history have been Christians (or some Moslems) and have all managed to combine their science with religions belief in a God. These include such greats like Isaac Newton, Michael Faraday - and even Charles Darwin who states clearly his beliefs in 'An Origin of Species'. The Anthropic Principle suggests strongly that the hundreds universal parameters of the universe (the strength of gravity, Planck's constant, electronic charge etc) are all finely tuned to enable a universe capable of life. Any (even very slight) change to any one would render the universe incapable of life evolution. One eminent nuclear physicist once exclaimed 'it is as if the universe knew we were coming'.

By far, however, the most compelling evidence of a God is the way in which millions of peoples' lives have been changed once they turn (return?) to him. All the evidence points to powers of good and evil at work in the world today - most of which cannot be explained simply through human effort.

Christians believe that there is a God who created us with the intention that we would know him. He has surrounded us with evidence of himself and he keeps the question of his existence squarely before us.

The problem with an omnipotent and mystical God is the problem with such a deity being fully involved in his/her Creation. Christians believe that Jesus Christ himself was divine - entering the world as God incarnate, and as fully human being able to access all the spectrum of human emotion, and yet still fully omnipotent God - a God that could interact with his creation and with humans, simply because he became one. Another problem with God is that his existence simply cannot be proved. The Christian response to that is very simple. I know that my wife loves me. I know that, despite over 30 years of marriage with its ups and downs, she still loves me, because our relationship is built on trust, mutual respect and love. However, if someone asked me to prove it, I couldn't. I know she loves me by the evidence of the way our relationship develops, but as to actual proof that is a little distasteful in a relationship that is based on trust and love. In the same way we can never 'prove' God is there or he loves us. But the evidence shows that this is indeed so, and billions of intelligent, thoughtful, eminent people, as well as the poor and oppressed over the millennia are convinced by his existence simply because of the effect that he has on their lives.

The vast majority of scientists today are atheist. We have such a small knowledge of how the universe works and was created. Basically only speculation. Just because there is order does not in any way imply that it was created by a being. Also, we do not know the exact conditions that can support life, but have speculation. A change in a party of the universe might or might not change life. However, that does not in any way suggest a God. Cultural pressure, even the threat of death, has kept people throughout the centuries as believers. Turning to religion helps peoples lives because it makes them part of a group, gives them a set of guidelines to follow, and suggest that there is always someone watching. All psychological reasons. None blatantly point out that there is a God. The above answer provides no hard evidence that supports a God, nor does mine. It is a question that cannot be proved. However, our society is moving towards one that examines facts, not common belief. I see no evidence of a God, only people giving credit to a God for an act or action, when that action would have occurred regardless of people believing in a God.
