Yes. The light from the Sun is actually white. As you probably know, white light can be spilt into 7 different colours. The atmosphere absorbs the blue light (from the ligh spectrum) and immediately re emits it at the same frequency and wavelength (same colour). So blue is scattered. This theory is called Rayleigh's Scattering.
