"Blinded By The Light", which was the first song on Springsteen's first album ("Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J."), was a much bigger hit for Manfred Mann's Earth Band several years later. In fact, most people today only know the Manfred Mann version.
Following this success, Manfred Mann also recorded two more Springsteen songs, both from the Greetings album: "For You" and "Spirit in the Night". But neither one of those came close to the success of "Blinded by the Light".
