For those in a similar situation:
I saw some articles saying to use tea tree oil to help with swelling, keloids, and other inflammation, so I decided to give it a shot. I picked up 100% pure tea tree oil, put it on a Q-Tip, and applied it to the bump, the wound, and the area around the wound. Within 30 seconds, the bump had shrunk by half the size. After 5 minutes, the bump is about a fourth of the size.
I put a few drops in my saline rinse, and I will update if, and when, the bump completely disappears.
Note: I saw that although tea tree oil is naturally anti-inflammatory, it can cause a reaction, so I felt it was necessary to note that you should do a patch test if you don't already know whether it will react negatively with your skin and wound. In my case, I have used tea tree oil, and was okay to go ahead and try it.
Generally these bumps are courtesy of the facial cleaning products and over use of aftercare solutions. Often mislabeled as "Keloids", they are in fact "Hypertrophic Reactions". A "Hypertrophic Reaction" is a reaction to an "irritant" that has become trapped in the piercing and caused the body to generate "Collagen" to swell the tissue near the irritant to attempt to isolate the irritant from the body thus forming the "bump".
The simplest method to resolve this is to cease using facial scrubs, lotions, creams and any aftercare solution on or around the piercing. Flushing the piercing under running water twice a day while moving the jewellery has proven highly effective in flushing the irritant out of the piercing and the "bump" will start to dry up and disappear on it's own. There are other methods for resolving this issue, but ultimately the simple flushing of the piercing while showering twice daily is the simplest and most reasonable method showing the best results.
This is very common clean it with salted hot ish water boiled and don't keep touching it.
If its an old piercing its most likely scar tissue, if its a new piercing its most likely getting infected and there is pus in the bump.
Mine didn't. But I've seen others have a bump on their nose from the piercing. But of course I always do my own piercings.
try to put tee tree oil on it
A bump is a reaction to your cleaning agent, stop using it and look at the related links for more help with your issue.
Salt water and do not touch it. Try bio oil for the scar.
See your piercer, who can help you out.
If it is a bump on your nose piercing that isn't filled with puss but keeps growing it is most likely a keloid. The best thing to use is TEA TREE OIL. It comes in a little bottle and you can find it at a Walmart where all the medicines are. Dip a q-tip in the bottle and apply a little of the oil to the bump. DO NOT TOUCH THE BUMP OR MESS WITH IT as that's what makes it bigger. It should clear up in a few days depending on how big the bump is and how much you mess with it.
It is called a nose piercing.
That is a hypertrophic reaction. This is a reaction to an irritant, generally the over use of cleaning products and failure to rinse the piercing out correctly after cleaning. Irrigate the piercing under running water and stop using whatever you are using for cleaning the piecing , the bump will go away over the next 5 days.
Yes, you can use ear piercing cleaner on a nose piercing.
