The .22 Special round is also known as .22 WRF (not the .22 magnum) and is available online for $8-12 for a box of 50. Some gunshops carry them. Two manufacturers produce this ammo: CCI and Winchester. CCI is a 45gr copper jacketed hollow point and Winchester being a copper "coated" 45gr flattened round nose bullet.
You won't get you answer by serial no unless you call the factory. However you will from the barrel codes listed on the Remington Society of America here: http://remingtonsociety.com/rsa/questions/barrelcodes
With the serial number that you supplied, your Remington model 14 1/2 rifle was made in either 1914,or 1915.These rifles were made from 1914-1931 by Remington. Definitely 1914 smack dab in the middle of the range listed in Remington Records.
Check the date code on the barrel, see related links for a page on the Remington Society of America for details.
I see them listed from $150 to $300+. Depends on condition as to top-end price.
i have 2 Remington model 141, carbine serial #c 69757 and a 141 gamemaster serial #25543. what are the production dates and how many were produced?
Yes, never heard of that. Research should be done.
Yes, if the serial number is listed.
The police positive special list I have shows a D before your listed serial number. If that is the case then it was made in 1968.
Post a serial or call Remington.
I don't believe the Remington 512, 511 or 510 have serial numbers

Serial numbers by year for the 870 Remington Model.
