It depends. If you are a professional in any medical institution and you position allows you wear dresses or skirt suits, then YES! (as well as closed toe shoes, but that's another post) Come to think of it, any female professional in a skirt/dress looks more pulled together at work with a clean lined pair of hose on: a lawyer, a flight attendent, waitress in nicer restaurants, sales reps, and so on. Also, It looks rediculous to show your legs without hose or tights when it is cold outside! You wouldn't wear shorts, would you?! If you dare to bare in colder climates, put on hose or tights or even leggings ...depending onyour age. Times when hose aren't a must? Summer or anytime it is hot outside. In casual situations: dinner out with friends, a movie, a date, dancing, shopping ...you get the idea. Hose can be updated for today's style without looking like your mother or an 80s throw back. If you have a dark suit on, try a pair of hose with just a hint of black and a black leg line up the back. Hose with a muted design in them can be fun. Black or brown tights can be a great match with a fun dress. There are lots of options. Hope this is helpful to someone! It depends. To answer your question, 1) Baptist women, or just women in general don't have to wear skirts all the time because it is forced. It is a choice. 2) Not all baptist women wear skirts only. Most women that wear skirts only that are baptist are fundamental baptist. Being skirts only is a choice, and a conviction. Me, my sisters and mother are all skirts, because the bible clearly says in Deuteronomy 22:5 (KJV) - "The women shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man. Neither shall a man put on a women's garment: for all that do so are an abomination to God." I think God clearly states what women should, and should NOT wear. That is why some women wear skirts only. Because pants on women were always, until the 20th century (caused by rebellion) considered unthinkable and scandulous. Pants truly are a man's garment.
Scottish men do not wear skirts. Some Scottish men wear kilts, which may look like a skirt but are a completely different garment.
