It depends. If you are a professional in any medical institution and you position allows you wear dresses or skirt suits, then YES! (as well as closed toe shoes, but that's another post) Come to think of it, any female professional in a skirt/dress looks more pulled together at work with a clean lined pair of hose on: a lawyer, a flight attendent, waitress in nicer restaurants, sales reps, and so on. Also, It looks rediculous to show your legs without hose or tights when it is cold outside! You wouldn't wear shorts, would you?! If you dare to bare in colder climates, put on hose or tights or even leggings ...depending onyour age. Times when hose aren't a must? Summer or anytime it is hot outside. In casual situations: dinner out with friends, a movie, a date, dancing, shopping ...you get the idea. Hose can be updated for today's style without looking like your mother or an 80s throw back. If you have a dark suit on, try a pair of hose with just a hint of black and a black leg line up the back. Hose with a muted design in them can be fun.
