Either the hCG hormone exists indicating pregnancy or it does not exist meaning there is no pregnancy. If there is a chance a woman could be pregnant and receives a negative reading, she may need to wait and take another test one week later.

Missed Period

Missing a period is another early sign of being pregnant. Women typically have their periods at the same time every month, so if she is keeping track and it is absent, chances are she could be pregnant. After missing a period, she should wait about one to two weeks and take a pregnancy test to see if she is pregnant. Another option would be to call the doctor for a blood test since they have been known to be more accurate.

Tender, Swollen Breasts

As hormones increase in a female, their breasts begin to enlarge and feel tender and swollen. Sometimes tender, swollen breasts can be mistaken with menstruation as well, so wait a few weeks to see if a period shows before calling the doctor.

Frequent Urination

Another sign of pregnancy is frequent urination. As the uterus begins to grow, it presses on a woman's bladder making her urinate more frequently. Urination may also increase because pregnant women raise their water intake due to a constant feeling of dehydration.

Fatigue

Many pregnant women experience fatigue. The body is going through so many changes and as hormones increase and some women become exhausted. Also, if women are vomiting throughout the day and do not get enough sleep, they will feel very tired as well.

Nausea

One of the worst signs of pregnancy is feeling nauseated. Nausea can also lead to intense vomiting. It has been known, however, that the more a woman vomits, the more established the pregnancy. The reason for this is the more a woman vomits, the more the hormones are increasing. Increased hormones are very important for the creation of the placenta and other reasons.
