...Yes to an extent, but when we look at the definition of Deists they believe in a form of theological rationalism that believes in God on the basis of reason without reference to revelation . It's debatable of course , but really in context to Leibniz's postulations on "monads" , you'd be more accurate to define him as a believer in "Panpsychism" ... Some would even offer the opinion that Leibniz's beliefs were nothing more than academic , as how now we popularly categorise him , because in reality , when he was alive , he worked with great passion to reconcile the then evolution of the great reformation {as initiated by Luther} with Catholicism .

So in the light of that dedication , perhaps he was just a "do good er Christian" !
