Is the ship The Poseidon bigger than The Titanic?

The Poseidon of course, was a fictional ship in the movie The Poseidon Adventure. The film makers used the RMS Queen Mary as a "stand in" or backdrop for the film. The RMS Queen Mary is 1,194 feet LOA (length overall) and the RMS Titanic was 882 LOA. So one could argue that although fictional, the portrayal of the Poseidon by the Queen Mary made it longer than the real Titanic.

What ship was the Poseidon adventure filmed on?

The Poseidon Adventure was filmed in 1972 aboard the RMS Queen Mary. This ship experienced a similar situation in real life while serving as a troopship in 1942 (except the RMS Queen Mary only rolled over 52 degrees when the wave hit, instead of capsizing) and the book that the film was based on was inspired loosely on that incident. The film was nominated for and won several awards, including two Academy Awards.

This angered Poseidon or Minos was disobedient and made Poseidon think he was not worthy. Poseidon cursed Minos' wife.
