Lindbergh was for all intents and purposes a borderline Bundist. The America First movement was a kissing cousin of the German-American Bund. some hecklers even let go with ( Herr Oberst Von Lindemann! ( Sir Colonel Von Lindemann- the nearest German equivalent. Von Lindemann means- (noble implied) Man of the land Lindbergh is ( Ground Mount) or high ground ( berg is mountain). It was common knowledge that Lindy was on good terms with German bigwigs- in fact he received awards from the Nazis. really- FDR could have brought him up on Treason charges- as he was (Lindbergh) an officer of the U.S. Army- and FDR was Commander-In-Chief-- Look, Truman removed Macarthur for getting too big for his boots- but that was in a war situation. More and more the Lone Eagle emerges as a shady character. Several books have been done on thisl. (Airman and carpenter).
