Re: Frank Sinatra Frank Sinatra was born in 1915, in 1936 Fred Astaire sang it in the movie "Swing Time" so unless he did it when he was a 16 years old I don't think it was Frank Sinatra. However I am not sure if Fred Astaire was the original or not.
Anka wrote the song "My Way" and Sinatra released it in 1969 and soon after announced his retirement from Show Business. Anka admired Sinatra and felt the lyrics fit his personality and helped to tell his story at that time in his life and career.
