How many fouls are there in Quidditch?

There are officially 700 possible fouls that can be committed. Although only about 10 are particularly common, like grabbing your opponents broom or colliding with them. It should also be mentioned that several hundred of them are pretty much impossible to be committed now as players are not allowed to carry their wands during matches and the old nobility laws about carrying swords no longer apply.

Are Quidditch games dangerous?

Becuase you're flying at such a large height and you could easily fall off your flying broomstick. Also, because animated balls are flying at your head (called Bludgers), *trying* to knock you off your broom and maybe break a bone or two in the process. Also, going at high speeds is dangerous, as you could run into anything. There are many fouls possible, such as 'cobbing' excessive use of elbows. And while you are not supposed to use your wand during the match, the audience sometimes does and referee's have often disappeared.

How is Quidditch played?

Quidditch is a game played by characters in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. The game is played on broomsticks outside on a oval-shaped pitch. There are two teams of 7 players, with 4 balls in play at all times. The first ball is called the Quaffle. The Quaffle is handled by the three Chasers. It is passed between the Chasers towards the opposing team's Keeper, who guards his team's three hoops. When a Chaser passes the Quaffle through one of the three hoops, his team scores 10 points. There are 2 balls called Bludgers, which are self-propelled balls, enchanted to try and unseat as many players from both teams as possible. There are two players on each team that handle the Bludgers, called Beaters. These players carry clubs that they use to keep the Bludgers from hitting their own teammates, and try and hit them towards the opposing team members. The last ball in play is called the Golden Snitch. This is a golf ball-sized ball with fluttering wings that eludes capture by both team's seekers. The Seeker who catches the Golden Snitch usually wins the game for his/her team, as this ends the game and gives his team 150 points. This means both that the Seeker has the most dangerous job and are fouled the most and that the team that catches the Snitch almost always wins but not necessarily. There are also 700 possible fouls in Quidditch but only one match has ever had all of the possible fouls.

Intentional fouls are fouls that are done to make someone shoot free throws instead of holding the ball, mostly done at the end of close-scored ball games.

What are some fouls that happen during a basketball game?

Offensive, defensive, technical, and flagrant. Offensive is when your team has the ball and is trying to score and someone on your team fouls a defensive player. Defensive is the opposite of offensive. Technical is when a player or is being unsportsmanlike to a player, coach, or ref. If you are T'd up (called for a technical foul) twice, you are ejected from the game and may receive fines or suspensions depending on how often you get technical fouls and the reason you got the technical foul. Flagrant is intentionally fouling a player very hard, typically resulting in injury/ies. Examples are stopping a layup by checking someone with your body (imagine Shaquille O'Neal colliding with Steve Nash and think of the impact). If the flagrant foul is bad enough, it can become a flagrant 2. If you get a flagrant 2 you are ejected immediately.
