When you get your nose cauterized it does not hurt because the doctor puts a numbing thing in your nose on a cotton ball, After its done it took me about an hour to get my feeling back (the numbing stuff ran down my throat so it numbed my throat) and then I got a runny nose, then a blocked nose, runny nose, blocked nose, it keeps changing. People say " don't blow your nose for a week after it", but I got it done yesterday and I'm blowing my nose hard and nothing bad happened.
I literally just had my nose cauterized. I don't believe there is anything wrong with it as long as you don't blow your nose... it creates pressure in the sinuses.
I pulled off my old burnt skin (from inside my nose) after 1 week.
Swelling of the eyes can be a common reaction to nasal cauterization from silver nitrate. Other common symptoms include runny nose, sinus pain and pressure of the gums.
If I have a cauterization what should I do after the proceedure?
a discription of a cauterization is treating tissue with heat.
It normally takes about 3-4 weeks for it to fully heal and turn back to normal color.
Injudicious cauterization of both sides of the septum causes a perforated septum when death of nose tissue occurs.
The doctor performed cauterization on the wound to stop the bleeding.
No, your eyes shouldn't be effected during or after nasal cauterization.
if its external, with a pain relieving antiseptic, if internal cauterization, youd need NSAID
It is recommended that you do not use any nose spray unless directed by doctor after the surgery. But there is nothing wrong with Saline as it is not harmful in any way to a open wound and is used as a cleaning agent with major cuts and abrasions.
