November 7, 2000 - George W. Bush was elected US President in a narrow victory over sitting Vice President Al Gore. The recounting of votes in the state of Florida was suspended by the US Supreme Court on December 8 and the case Bush vs. Gore was decided on December 12, 2000.

November 26, 2000 - The British Columbia Lions defeat the Montreal Alouettes 28-26 to win the Grey Cup at the CFL Championship game in Calgary, Alberta.

One important thing that happened in 1990 was that Panama's leader surrendered to the United States. Other important things that happened included the first black mayor of New York City being sworn in, and the Tower of Pisa was closed to the public because it was leaning too much.
