First, you should analyze the problem. This means seeing what happened and guessing why. Then think of how you could fix it, for example if the problem is your computer is going to slow then it could be two things, your fan could have dirt in it or you could have to much stuff on the hard drive. Once you see what is wrong do some research to see how to fix it.
First, actually listen to the user's description of phenomena. Alternatively, pretend to be too busy for this. Second, diagnose the problem and determine course of action. Alternatively, groan and mumble to yourself incomprehensively. Third, skillfully apply solution (rather than erratically messing around). Alternatively, reboot the PC. Fourth, leave a functioning PC and a happy user behind. Alternatively, shrug shoulders and blame Microsoft.
Scientific Method.
investigating a problem, especially by a scientist, must be precise, exact and follow certain rules and guidelines. Cannot be inexact or imprecise or sloppy. Other scientists must be able to exactly duplicate the steps taken to verify the accuracy...and possibly, the solution.
