Luminous means "giving off light", or glows in the dark (since luminosity is detected by the eyes, it usually refers to the visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum). Many materials emit a wide range of radiation other than visible light, which is why some radioactive materials were used as glow in the dark paints, and why the Curies focused on a particular radioactive isotope (because it glowed in the dark). Some materials can even store energy from visible light and emit it later, which is why some of my luminous objects have to be "charged" by a light bulb or the sun. Some chemical combinations can emit light for a while, such as the stuff in lightning bugs, which we can replicate in production lines to make glow sticks.
Non luminous materials do not emit light that we can see. Most elements that are not radioactive fall into this category.
If the bulb is switched off, then we would call it non-luminous.
Bodies which emit light are luminous bodies and those who don't emit light are known as non luminous bodies Example - stars are luminous bodies while planets are non luminous bodies Tube light is a luminous body while a chair is non luminous
sun (a luminous object) emits its own light and the moon ( a non luminous object ) reflects the light from the sun to earth that's how we can see the moon. The same way gold is a non luminous object.
Because of stone of luminous has object
Planets( Mercury, Venus, Earth, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune) and also Moons are Non-Luminous objects they don't emit light. The reason we see them because they reflect light from the Sun.
A black body.
Non luminous materials do not emit light that we can see. Most elements that are not radioactive fall into this category. Non luminous bodies are those which do not produce their own light. For example: moon etc.
Luminous materials are materials that give off light.
The earth is Non-luminous.
It's non-luminous
A TV, when it's on and showing an image is luminous. When it's off, it's non luminous.
what is luminous, non luminous and illuminous source of light.
It is luminous
luminous
A luminous flame flickers while a non-luminous flame remains steady.
-A non-luminous flame is when the air hole of the Bunsen burner is closed but a luminous flame is produced when the air hole is opened.-A luminous flame has an outer of orange colour and an inner of blue. A non-luminous flame has an outer of blue and an inner of orange.-A luminous flame produces soot while a non-luminous does not produce soot.-A luminous flame is weak and unsteady. A non-luminous flame is strong and steady.-A non-luminous flame is very hot while a luminous flame is not too hot.
If the bulb is switched off, then we would call it non-luminous.
