A simile uses like or as to compare two or more unlike objects or humans compared to each other using "like or as". Example: Boy, am I burned up! A simile is used when two or more unlike objects are compared to each other most often using the words 'like' or 'as'. "Her hair is as soft as a downy chick." Comparing her hair with the down of a baby chick.
