Ask yourself these questions:

Do you ask other people to repeat themselves? If often, that may be a sign.

Do others tell you that the television or radio are too loud? That, too, is a sign.

Have you stopped going to church/synagogue because you can't understand? Another sign.

Continuing to look at your answers to these questions will give you more insight to the symptoms of hearing loss.

Can you understand your friends at a group gathering?

Does background noise make it harder for you to listen?

Do you have ringing in your ears?

Do you have a history of hearing loss in your family?

Have you worked around noise such as factory or shotguns?

So, if you are having difficulty following conversation with your co-workers, friends and family, I suggest that you start with an examination of your ears to see if it is just a build up of ear wax and follow up with a hearing test, if for no other reason, than to get a baseline (if it is normal) or to pursue treatment options if there is a problem.

Definition of hearing impairment?

Hearing impairment is any loss of hearing for a variety of reasons. It refers to a condition that causes someone not to hear as well as someone with normal hearing. It does not refer to the degree of hearing loss, the cause of hearing loss or the indication that someone should wear a hearing aid. Not all causes of hearing loss indicate the need for a hearing aid...some may be corrected medically. If you ask others to repeat, find yourself turning up the tv, missing out on the punchline of a joke, missing out on important meeting facts, you might be experiencing some degree of hearing impairment.

Is there such thing as semi-Adhd?

You can have some of the symptoms but unless a qualified doctor determines that you have 7 of 9 (I think) DSM-IV symptoms of inattentiveness and/or hyperactivity, impairment in two or more areas of life, and existence of symptoms in childhood, you don't have ADHD. Everybody has some of the symptoms, but it's the combination of nearly all of them plus the clinically significant impairment in life that constitutes the disorder.
