CNet's May 2013 review of the best DVD/Blu-ray Players included Panasonic's DMP-BDT220, Sony's BDP-S590, LG's BP620, and the Sony PlayStation 3 Super Slim.
Yes, BluRay DVD players also play non Blu-Ray DVDs with no problem.
DVD players and drives cannot handle Bluray discs, whether recording to them or reading from them. Bluray players and drives on the other hand can use DVD discs as well as Bluray discs.
No and HD DVDs have been permanently discontinued
Yes, dvds can be played on bluray players.
HD DVD and Bluray are both high definition disc formats but they were not only competitive formats but incompatible formats as well. While the battle for the HD market was in progress a handful of players were sold that would support both formats. These players were expensive and very few were ever sold. Unfortunately, HD DVD only players will not play Bluray and Bluray players will not play HD DVD discs. It is still worth keeping HD DVD players as they are the only players capable of HD DVD discs.
DVD players cannot play Bluray discs. The lasers and the data storage are different so no data can be read from a Bluray disc in a DVD drive. That is the case whether or not there is any up-scaling available in the player. Bluray players on the other hand are quite happy to play DVDs as well as Bluray discs.
Yes. Some Blu-Ray players can even play photo CDs and some can even display data on SD cardsAll players can, but not the very early ones (the first ones were manufactured in 2006)All Blu-Ray players can play DVDs and CDs
Some of the best rated portable DVD players are Sony's 8-inch (Model # DVP-FX820), Phillips 10.2-inch, and Toshiba's 9-inch (Model # SDP93S). LG and Coby also make highly rated portable DVD players.
Standard DVD players and Bluray players normally only have outputs. Therefore, it isn't possible to connect them together.
Bluray and HD DVD are the two trade names for high definition discs and players. Bluray is by far the better choice for the simple reason that HD DVD was withdrawn in 2009. Bluray had won the HD format war so HD DVD quietly left the stores. There are a number of HD DVD discs around as well as the players. As the two systems are in-compatible, don't trash your HD DVD player just yet. It will still do a do job of playing the HD DVD discs you still have.
Beacaus bluray is newer and they think everybody has a bluray player... eventually it will come on dvd.
Sears usually has a good price on DVD players and sometimes they don't. Depends on the quality and if it is a bluray player. And also depends on any holdidays.
