Emollients may include vitamin E and aloe vera. Pigments may come from any combination of plant, animal, mineral, or synthetic ingredients. Common pigments are carmine are cochineal extract. Sometimes preservatives are also within a lipstick, such as alcohol. Another ingredient may be sunscreen or fragrance.
Depending on the company that makes it, it will have different ingredients. generally there is a compination of waxes ie. bees wax and oils ie. castor oil then the pigments, fillers and chemicals

I'm not certain how it goes these days, however, whale blubber used to be used in making lipstick. I hope for the whale's sake this is no longer so.
