Strokes are often accompanied by a loss of speech, slurred speech, or an inability to come up with the correct words. Many strokes also involve facial tics or loss of movement in the muscles of the face, especially when limited to one side only. Minor strokes may include loss of memory.

Some of the symptoms you, or someone you are with, may notice can be numbness on the face, drooling, or weakness, possibly on one side of your body. You may notice a tingling sensation, sudden confusion or problems with your speech are also signs to look out for. Severe headaches that appear quickly can be a symptom of a stroke too.
