Percy is a boy in 6th grade with dyslexia and ADHD. He lives with his Mom and stepdad, Gabe in an apartment in New York. Percy's real father is the Greek god of the sea, Poseidon. Poseidon's brother is Zeus, the god of the sky as well as the leader of the gods. Zeus's master lightning bolt is missing, and he believes that Poseidon had Percy steal it. This is not the case however, as Percy doesn't even know Poseidon. For his safety, Percy's mom sends him to Camp Half- Blood, a place for demigods. With some friends made at camp, Percy sets out on a quest to find the lightning bolt and return it to Zeus before there is a war among the gods.
