The introductory paragraph of an essay should begin with an interesting sentence
that relates to the topic of the essay. When writing the introductory paragraph,
it can move from general to specific or begin with a story about the writer's
experience concerning the topic. When using the general to specific technique, the
paragraph begins by explaining a situation or topic that will lead to the main topic of
the essay. The story technique is used to show readers how the writer relates to
that topic or the reason behind the chosen topic.

Yes, essays do have paragraphs. I would say at least 3-5 paragraphs and up depending on how much was assigned or how much you feel you need to write. I am currently writing an essay about the 1935 Labor Day hurricane that hit the Florida Keys, and our teacher assigned us a page and a half, for which I am writing 3-4, 6 sentence paragraphs. Hope this helps you in whatever you need to do! xD
In an introduction paragraph, you first need an attention-grabbing beginning. This can be a quote, a unique fact, or a short story to get the readers to continue reading. This could be one sentence or it could be a few, just make sure it's no more than four or five otherwise your paragraph will be too long. Then you will transition into your thesis, which is typically only one sentence but could be two. Your thesis briefly describes each of the main points you're going to write about in the rest of the paper, and it should be the last part of your introduction paragraph.
-IntroductionYour introduction like the five-paragraph-essay, should open generally (with a quotation, anecdote, generalization), and lead into the thesis statement.Thats it wishing for you an organized and nice essay :)

Go back and read the opening paragraph. If you need to reread it. Now answer the question.
You need to press the Enter key at the end of a paragraph to separate the paragraph from the next paragraph. One or more empty rows are generally placed between the two paragraphs. So, Word wrap will continue until the Enter key is pressed.
