there is no book to study for a trade that requires hands on physical work and different situations.although there is the blue book which has all the formulas and such a pipefitter will use day to day.but no book can prepare you for a journeyman pipefitter test.hands on experience will be needed.good luck

Go to a bookstore and find the testing section. There you will find a book/ study guide put out by the testing company and in the book you will find examples of the test and how to take the test. I am not a great test taker and when I took the GRE I used one of these book to prepare. I got the test scores I needed for my grad program, so I think these books do a pretty good job.
As far as I know , a free book no. Unless you are being tested thru a company. There are 4 levels of certification . Math a big part pythagram theorem ,learn it . Ask a local pipe fitter union local , or the closest nccer program provider . I myself am a level 4 pipe fitter and also a boilermaker both nccer certified . Trig, geometry, algebra , blueprints ,equipment......etc.
