NASA now belives that the Jet Stream was partly responsible. Deforestation, bad weather, overuse of the land for agriculture and poor cultivation techniques all contributed to the dust bowl in the U.S.
Greetings,
When dealing with weather, climate, and most significant problems for that matter, the answer is almost always a MULTIFACTORAL problem or multiple source cause.
This being said the primary problem was poor farming practices.
Many of these practices led to a vicious cycle of,
Without healthy crops with deep roots to "pump water" out of the ground and add it to the air. Entire weather patterns changed. leading to the "Dust Bowl".
We are currently seeing similar problems in the Amazon Rainforest and the Growth of the Sahara Desert both due to plant reduction
Lesson that should be learned Man can't govern himself, or doesn't seem to learn from previous mistakes.
drought and over use killed all the grass and made it disappear. with just the topsoil exposed, high winds picked up the loose dirt and whirled it for miles, destroying everything.

Dustbowl
The dustbowl is a nickname for the Midwest during the great depression. I is one factor that causes the great depression because of the shortage of food.

The dust bowl helped people appreciate the value of soil
The Dustbowl was the result of over-farming the land and not letting the soil rest. The dust from the Dustbowl area was so destructive that it caused health problems in addition to erosion of the soil. Farmers could no longer plant for profit, which was a huge occupation in the area.
