All answers are correct!!
Small gaps are left behind the girders mounted in walls to give room for expansion. Usually one end of the iron structure is fixed and the other end is allowed to expand in summer into the left out gap.
He heard about the true story of a girl who was left upon an island near the coast of Sothern California, who lived there alone for 18 years
Maybe. If the example you give is the entire sentence, then it is not correct: the verb should be plural to agree with the plural subject " two sons." But if the subject is "All that is left...." then the predicate "is two sons" is correct.
"Scot free" is a slang term that just means "free." He got off scot free from the charges and left the courtroom.
To the island Aeoli to see Aeolus god of the winds
Odysseus arrived on the island of Aeolia, ruled by the god Aeolus, Keeper of the Winds. Here, he was a guest for few days. Aeolus lived on the island with his wife, as well as his six sons and six daughters. Each of his son was married to one of his daughters. Upon leaving, the wind-god gave Odysseus a bag made of ox-hide, trapping all the strong winds within. Aeolus warned Odysseus not to open the bag. Odysseus sailed for nine straight days without sleep. The wind was fair and he sighted his island. Tired, Odysseus went below deck for short sleep. His men were greedy, and were curious to see what valuables was hidden in the bag, causing all the strong winds to escape. The sudden storm drove his ships off course, lasted several days. Odysseus was driven all the way back to Aeolia. Aeolus realised that he must be cursed by some gods. Aeolus refused to help Odysseus again. According to Parthenius, Odysseus had seduced one of Aeolus' daughters, named Polymela. When Aeolus found out he would have punished Odysseus, but the hero had already left the island, so Aeolus would have punished his daughter. Diores, however, intervened on his sister's behalf, and persuaded his father to let him marry Polymela.

Aeolia, where the wind God Aeolus lives. In the book it mentions the cyclops as being cannibals and I think this is who you are talking about. By the way, they end up back in Aeolia after a while on sea because Odysseus's crew think the bag given to him by Aeolus was full of riches. They open the bag, and are blown back to Aeolia. My source is just being a high school student that has read the book. Hope I helped!
