Walter Cronkite (CBS Evening News for 19 years, from 1962 to 81): Chet Huntley and David Brinkley (NBC's Huntley-Brinkley Report 1959 to 1970):
Chet Huntley and David Brinkley were two experienced news reporters who were teamed up by NBC on October 29, 1956. Huntley anchored from New York City and Brinkley anchored from Washington DC. Having two people anchoring was very unusual back then (a single anchor was the norm). But their evening newscast became very successful; in fact, it lasted until July 31, 1970.
