Willard was a town in Pennsylvania that had it's name changed to University Park with the development of Pennsylvania State University. There's also an older college there called Willard State College which predates Penn State by some years, when the town used to be called Willard. This is where the rescue station was set up that the characters in the original night of the living dead deduced was the closest and chose as their destination. If you're at Penn State University, then you're only about 30 miles from the farmhouse which they actually filmed the original night of the living dead at.
