∙ 8y agoThe 1920s was an era when Baseball was the most popular sport, and many people loved to go to a game if they could; College Sports like football were also gaining in popularity, as were newer sports like hockey. Also popular were movies-- by 1927, "talking pictures" came along (prior to then, most films were silent), but going to a movie was always a fun activity. Radio was a major addition to the culture-- when broadcasting made its debut in 1920, it changed American life, by bringing hit songs and the most popular entertainers, as well as news and sports, right into people's homes; nearly everyone either bought their own radio or tried to build one, as people were delighted to be able to listen to their favorite programs. Two other popular leisure activities were going to a concert, or going dancing at a club.

The roaring twenties occurred after world war one. After the war was over and the Treaty of Versailles was signed everyone was happy that there could be peace in the world. The women were happy to have there husbands and families back and everyone just started to have fun and enjoy every day as if it were their last.
