Here's my suggestion: Go outside. Go for a walk, go to a friends place. Go somewhere where the game isn't availiable for you to play it.
You could try reading a good book that you can't put down, if you're a girl i would suggest the book "Losing it". If your a guy, maybe not. Hope this helped!
I have a relative that is addicted to Video Games, as well... mostly the computer ones. What you need to do is kindly have the system taken away. Get some fresh air and things like that, it helped me out for a while (until he got the PC back).... So... I would just say, if it's computer games... find a job, buy programs and tutorials... start learning online. Buy actual books if you hate reading online too.
Hello, I am addicted to some computer games. I can't seem to get unaddicted except for one of the games. I want to delete my account on it but also want to keep it. I can stand without it for a week (no wifi at holiday place). I don't know why but I play it everyday 1 or 2 hours (not too bad right?). I DO NOT KNOW WHY I'M ADDICTED TO BE HONEST?! I KEEP PLAYING THE SAME GAME WITH SAME MAPS AND STUFF OVER AND OVER AGAIN EVEN THOUGH I MAXED OUT ALL GEAR. I badly want to be unattached to my laptop and focus on my studies because playing video games leads you nowhere, not to a university just nowhere. Please don't say: Became unaddicted that won't help. I am spending 10 minutes writing this. I have no idea why I am even addicted to it. But like I said before I don't want to delete my account. Should I maybe make a sort of timetable and only play these games in the weekends or 15 minutes at the latest? Does anyone have the same problem or thing going on? Any advice? I have some ideas. #1 I sit inside the computer room in my house with parents supervising so I can't be tempted. #2 Completely delete all my accounts and stuff on addictive games (next to impossible slightly possible). #3 Play few hours on weekends or at maximum 15 minutes games daily. #4 Abandon addictive games (next to impossible but slightly possible I'd rather delete accounts this is practically MISSION IMPOSSIBLE). Any tips or more ideas?
Compulsive gaming, or gaming addictions, are classified under the same clinical impulse control disorder as gambling. It is a medical (psychological) disorder, in other words.
When a gambler begins to get addicted to the gambling, it becomes a clinical psychological disorder. Because it is a mental addiction. The exact same thing applies to gaming.
In other words, if you have a gaming addiction, you're just like somebody with a gambling addiction.
Clinical impulse control disorders such as these are very damaging to mental, physical and social health. A gaming addiction is an irrational, abnormal and unhealthy behaviour.
You may be experiencing or will experience the following problems:
You lock it in a closet and tell someone to hold the key until you hardly ever think about it. As easy as that.
you set it on fire then lock yourself in a box for three weeks
Answer: You move or distract yourself.
Sell your consle or games lol. sleep more. get a job if your old enough. work harder in school. just stay away from your consle or computer.
One way could be to note how much time is spent on playing games. A person could use some kind of timer to remind him or her when the assigned time to play games is up.
I too had this problem, it went away over time. You could set goals, and every time you reach that goal, you call it an aceievment.
it's addicting
gaming can be very addicting, depending on what the game is, if you have an addicting personality(addicted to something). So if you have both of the above, gaming can be VERY addicting.
Once you find what you're looking for, you stop looking for it.
stop taking them... they're not addicting
Ecstasy is not physically addicting, but can become psychologically addicting. Users can stop by themselves, or receive counseling to address the situations that lead them to use psychoactive drugs.
Very addicting so hard to stop eating which can cause obesity
Depends on what you find addicting, and how you classify addicting...
Yes... If your a computer geek, or chatting on line, looking things up, whatever.
they react negatively(:
Well, I don't mean to be rude, but why would you want your dog to stop looking at you? I mean, if a cutie oie is looking at you, that would be cute. But I may be looking at you because you have food in your hand or a toy in your hand or something like that. . . ;D
It's totally addicting because there is something to do on it every day.
saying "bubble" is addicting because it's a very random, funny word to say, and if you say it to much, you can not stop! That is why I LOOOVE saying "bubble bubble bubble bubble"!
