1st Answer:

Sniff the ground a police can do this but why would they want to?

The Police dogs can be trained to track lost folks or prison escapees by their scent. We do not have that highly defined sense of smell. They can also smell bombs out, drugs, many other things. They can be trained to protect, by pinning down the bad guys and holding them. They are much faster than a human at running down a criminal.

Bark, bite, pee on a fire hydrant, poop on the grass, sniff strangers in private areas.

Bite suspects! Pee on the lawn.

Police dogs can also, very generally speaking, search without a warrant. If you refuse a consentual search, a police officer can have his dog walk around your car, and if the dog indicates that it smells drugs or other contraband, the officer then has probable cause to search your car.

No matter how much a dog is trained, there not humans and don't ALWAYS know the difference between right and wrong. Even police dogs can still do wrong things because there animals, any animal can have a bad day and do something wrong. A police officer can't be At Fault when a trained dog turns.

Because police dogs are assigned to a cop from near birth and their training is supposed to be supervised by the cop who now takes care of the dog meaning proper food and health duties and proper training so if the dogs bark when not told doesn't preform well in the field or anything like this it reflects on the owner/handler...

Example: dogs is sent on suspect suspect stops resisting don't is commanded to stop... dog keeps going and or needs to be pulled off I've seen it before...

hopes this helps.. if not sorry

Biting without command is a bad one and disobeying ANYTHING at all the owner says not too!

Police dogs sniff out drugs, bombs and suspects that would leave human cops ransacking entire cities.

Biting

the K-9 officer is responsible for the dog's actions. If the dog were to attack someone without justification, the handler would have to answer for it

Searching without a warrant or probable cause. If a dog smells something that a human cannot, that is or can be considered probable cause.

Biting also because if a police man bit some one they would probably get fired.....

Crapping in the street.

sniffing your crotch

A human officer would probably get in trouble for biting a suspect. Have you seen the movie Ace of Hearts? Check it out. The criminal got barb wire and scratched him and said it was the dog. The officer got in trouble. The whole movie was finding who did it.

If the dog attacked before a command from the officer or bit anywhere other than the forearm, the officer would have to have the dog put down as a threat to the public. I don't know what would happen to the officer, but the dog have to be put down. =(

Biting someones leg, sniffing below the waist, peeing in public and begging for treats.

You could be running from a Police Officer and then the Officer tells the dog not to do anything and not to chase you because your a fleeing suspect or felon. That would get an Officer in trouble for not doing his or hers job.

Or If your fleeing from the Police or not complying with their orders than the dog can be released to attack you and will bite you. And that is legal, but if you decide to comply with the LEO's and you are in handcuffs and they still let the K9 attack you for no reason than yes that could get the Officer in trouble or the Department.

So.....what I'm trying to point out here is that you should always do what the Officers tell you to do and comply with their orders. This will most likely result in you not getting chased or attacked by a Police K9.

Pee on Car

pee outside

Biting citizens.

atacking innocent civilians, not being able to determine who to attack or protect, not following instructions or order, being too hyper, wanting to play more than please, lots

Well the main, and most obvious would be biting criminals that are escaping.

Sniffing the Ground.

Pee on a tree.

Bite a suspect.

Urinate against the side of the police station.

Have sex on the street

Lick the face of the chief of police. Answer Sniff another officers backside.

The dog may bite local people and attack small children. Because Rottweilers and German Shepard's are so strong they could easily push their cage door open if its not locked properly, and get into a scene that is to dangerous for dogs to cope with.

Intimidate. Because some people do not think a cop would shoot them police dogs are trained to intimidate and in some cases chase criminals. Dogs can run faster, have a better sense of smell, and have a very powerful jaw.

They can sniff out people and drugs faster than a human can, and it can fit into tight spaces where some human's cannot.
Sniff out illegal drugs.
Sniff people in sensitive areas, bite suspects, pee in the park.
Attack another dog or pedestrian. Probably urinate on a sidewalk.
By not preforming the job it was trained to do.
Sniffing Peoples Crotches For Drugs.
Bite
sniff all the clues
The have very good sense of smell, otherwise they are used just to chase criminals on the run......

There are liability concerns if dog does something to someone it's not supposed to.

Police dogs are highly trained animals and are in constant training and train with their police officer. I doubt that there are many things that a police dog would do wrong they are so well trained.

Unless the dog unnecessarily damages persons or property, which is unlikely, you won't have much of a case.

Can the police use the threat of shooting your dogs to get consent to search your home?

I'm not sure I understand the question. The police are prohibited from making warrantless, non consenual searches. If you consent to let the police search your home, why would they want to shoot your dogs? Why wouldn't you restrain your dogs if you were allowing the police to search? If the police have a warrant to search the premises, they are absolutely authorized to destroy the dogs during the execution of the warrant, if necessary.
