My cat got sprayed last nite, I don't know why but it was only on one of his front legs and especially on his paw (probably stuck his paw in a skunk's lair......) anyway the spray itself or liquid is a dark golden yellow, consistency of motor oil. Because it was late and I did not have the peroxide on hand we ran the shower (hand held) over and over on his leg......yeah that was fun! Then I took a washcloth and soaked his eyes as they were watering alot (that smell is just disgusting for humans, imagine a cat whose sense of smell is far greater than ours, no wonder his eyes were watering, I was gaging myself!). Today I will go get the peroxide and concoct the potion to clean his paw and legs. Now my basement (that is where he stayed all nite) smells skunky, so off I go to get some air sponge and hope that the smell goes away, it seems less this morning....or maybe I am getting used to it :o)
