Carps are omnivores and eat both insects and plant matter. There are species specific pelleted foods that you can get from your LFS.
:) Veggie matter! :) Whether in pellets, flakes, or just raw vegetables (best) it doesn't matter!
A Fightn' Fish Fact- peas(with their outer shell removed) are good for the swim bladder! ;)
I've been wondering the same question, so i did some research. I found they seem to like oatmeal and uncooked rice, really just any dry starch. My kids always love to dig up worms and feed it to them. The fish go crazy! And of course keep with your regular fish food if any. Although mine just eat algae and other snacks we feed them. Thanks for asking!

Give your koi something they like to eat.
Try either a grapefruit (sliced in half, and one of those halves sliced in half, again), or Honey-nut cheerios. I'm not kidding. Orange segments are good, too.
Also, koi can take a half an hour to figure out that what you give them is food, and then to try eating some.
koi fish would normally eat goldfish food try tetra fin goldfish flakes they are made for goldfish and koi
All Carp eat vegetation. so other than some aquarium plants, you can feed them boiled vegetables as well
goldfish food
What kind of goldfish food? If it's fish flakes then definitely! I'm pretty sure you can feed any fish any fish food as long as it's not too big for the fish to actually eat or spiked with poison;)
Never feed a dog human food.Take the dog to a vet before it dies.
Small insects like pinhead crickets may suffice, but fish food is recommended.
even smaller fish, but however if it is a pet fish then talk to your local pet store for what to feed your fish.
The type/species of fish being fed and the kind of food too.
You would kill the fish by poluting the water if you added any kind of sauce to the water. The fish will survive a day or two without food until you can get some proper food for it/them.
That depends on what kind of fish you have. Some people feel dry food, other prefer frozen food such as mysis shrimp. Some marine fish, such as tangs, eat plants. Many feed them dried nori.
Different species of fish have different food requirements. Tropical Flakes are designed to feed a mix of tropical fish species. Goldfish food is a product that has been produced specifically to supply all the dietary needs of a goldfish. So yes goldfish can eat whatever you give them including Tropical fish food but it will not neccessarilly be doing the fish much good though.
It depends on how many fish you have, and the size of the fish. Usually, whatever your fish can consume in 5 minutes is how much they can eat. Mine is one of those oval goldfish, not the roundish kind with the flashy fins. I feed it one pellet twice a day.
