provides a delicious snack in between meals, satisfying your hunger, and is usually accompanied by a cup of tea

In the US, a biscuit is a quick bread, made with a higher amount of fat (butter, shortening) than yeast breads, and is a delicious soft bread. They are served with the meal in place of other types of bread.

In the British countries, a biscuit is what we in the US call a cookie, which is a flat, round, sweet snack or dessert.
