The meaning of witnessing to a jehovahs witness is the same as to Preach the Good news. We, Jehovahs Witnesses go from door to door, person to person to witness the coming of Armageddon, The meaning of The Bible, and how to deal with problems in life.

You have that slightly mixed up. We witness of Christ to people. We tell the Gospel Story of Jesus to others. To see what the Gospel Message is all about I have included a link from the famous Billy Graham people who are experts on the message. Enjoy.

Civil Answer:You watch the ceremony take place, and sign the wedding license. The only reason you'd ever have any further duties is if one of the spouses were to deny in court that a wedding took place. It'll never happen. Catholic Answer:from The Catechism of the Catholic Church, second edition, English translation 1994

1631 ... Since marriage is a state of life in the Church, certainty about it is necessary (hence the obligation to have witnesses); . . .

for any marriage, there are normally three required witnesses: the priest is the Church's official representative, witnessing for the Church, and pronouncing the nuptial blessing, as well as witnessing the vows; also the best man, and maid of honor are official witnesses for the "laity" in general.

Yes, it is hard to realize that we are divine because we are caught up in our own mechanism of change; therefore, we need to practice the attitude of just being a witness and letting things happen. This transforms our attention from the 'doer I' to the 'pure I' so we can succeed in knowing Christ consciousness. This is spiritual practice. Watching a great athlete doesn't make one great; one must become great by eliminating defects and practicing virtue.

If someone is a witness to a crime, it means that the witness saw or heard the crime that they have been accused to be a witness of. In other words, a witness to a crime is a person that either has something to do with the crime, saw the crime, or heard the crime in action (such as gun shots, fighting, etc.)
