When I was working at Tractor Supply Company, we sold Methylsulfonylmethane for horses. Methylsulfonylmethane is used to improve joint and hip conditions in horses. It acts as an anti inflammatory which could improve movement in the joints and hips for older horses or help with the longevity of a younger horses joints and hips. Typically, at TSC, we would get people who would come in that looked like they knew NOTHING about horses and would steal it off of our shelves until we locked it up in a class case. To answer your question, it was explained to me that Methylsulfonylmethane or MSM, when added to meth, it is used to cut meth. Cutting meth is used by dealers to get a larger yield from their product. It is a cheaper way for them to make a much larger profit.

Methylsulfonylmethane
Methamphetamine is commonly cut with MSM, or Methylsulfonylmethane, which is a substance used in the health food industry as a natural source of sulfur. When it is evaporated slowly in water or isoproyl alcohol, it becomes crystallized, and very closely resembles the appearance of meth crystals.
Yes.
It's a chemical compound - commonly used in dietary supplements and as a solvent.
Yes, many substances are known to be added to methamphetamine in the late manufacturing stages as "cut" to increase the weight and volume of the illicit product and thereby increase the profits of the manufacturer and/or drug dealers. Substances that crystalize and have similar appearance and properties as methamphetamine are frequently used to cut (dilute) the illicit product, including alum crystals (aluminum sulfate) and MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) (a popular home remedy and dietary supplement sold in health food stores). These additives or adulterants are highly toxic when mixed with meth and smoked. Alum is also toxic when ingested orally, caustic to the skin, mucous membranes, eyes, digestive system, and respiratory system. The purity of meth sold on the street has decreased dramatically over the past decade in response to greater government regulation of chemicals used in meth manufacture. As a result, the meth sold in the US contains much more toxic adulterants than it did a few years ago. For more information, see PBS Frontline: The Meth Epidemic, May 2011.
It's not recommended for pregnant women since they don't know what effect it have. They recommend you ask your doctor.
Meats, Dairy products, Vegetation. Broccoli shows high concentrations of MSM in its natural raw state.
