Telescopes can let you see things that are far away.

Telescopes are used to seek out specific stars, planets, nebulas, comets, etc.
Also, some other telescopes are used to just seek out objects at a far distance.
Telescopes are very cool when you can spot planets outside in the dark sky! :)

Visual Telescopes are telescopes that usually work on the ground. the use a lens that reflects into the sky and shows the universe from a certain distance. Visual Telescopes do not travel very far the average distance you can see from one is as far as Pluto (an average Telescope) Hope this is the answer you've been looking for!
Refracting telescope depend on one amazing fact,as light pass through glass,it slows down.slowing down a light beam makes it bent.when a light beam pass through a glass lens inside a telescope,it moves toward the lens.when the light beam comes out the other side, its bent.
The shape of the lens make light near the top of the lens bent down and light near the bottom of the lens is bent up.somewhere inside the tube, the light beam cross, but before they can spread out again.the eyepiece bents the light beam again and send them to the eye.
Telescopes are used to make it easier to see distant objects. They are sometimes used by ships at sea, to see other, distant ships, or shorelines, but they are mostly used by astronomers, to observe objects in the sky, such as stars and galaxies. We like to know that is going on in the rest of the universe.
To take pictures of space objects and observe planets and their movement.

Earth based telescopes have to see through the atmosphere and all the dust it contains. space telescopes like Hubble have nothing but clearspace to see through.
In space, they can see better because there is no atmosphere to interfere with sight. This gives a much clearer, sharper view.
Space-based telescopes can see further in space as they don't have to make do with a disturbing atmosphere (slight differences in temperature in atmospheric layers lead to perturbations of photos). So, very long exposures (over hours) can reasonably be made without having to fear such undesired phenomena. Very long exposures also means that the very faint sources of light (at the edge of the observable universe) can also be pictured so that they can be distinguished from the background noise. This way, space telescopes see further.
Telescopes are used to see things that are far away from earth. Using telescopes we can see things that are millions of miles away. Most of the telescopes are on Earth but some of them are in space such as the Hubble Space Telescope.
They have changed because now there is a telescope in space called the "Hubble". I can see things that regular telescopes on Earth cannot see.
we use telescopes for seeing things in outer space
Technology has improved in many ways. Telescopes, Space probes and space shuttle along with many other things help us get a better knowledge of space. More powerful telescopes let us see things very far from earth. Good space probes go more far out in space and are able to learn more about space. Space shuttles do the same thing as space probes but only have humans
The space shuttle helped us to be able to go into space and find out lots of info. we did not know. Before we had the space shuttle all we had were telescopes. Telescopes were good but all that they gave us were a picture and then we had to estimate how far away things in the universe were from other things were in the universe. Now that we have the space shuttle we are able to see things that we may not have seen with the telescope. We are also able to see how far away things are from other things
reflecting and refracting telescopes
The mission of a Telescope is to study or see space.
Strictly speaking, you cannot see "outer space", because space is almost entirely empty. That means that there is nothing there to reflect light back to our eyes, so we don't see anything. But to view things on the other side of the "almost entirely empty" outer space - things like moons, planets and stars - we typically use many versions of telescopes, although you can see examples of each with your bare eyes.
Lenses can help people to see better. Lenses are needed in telescopes for astronomers to see distant things in the night sky.
so we could see in oter space
