The "Beastie" as well as the sow's head represents evil and savagery in "The Lord of Flies". Only Simon is able to rise above the base cruelty and evil that manages to take over the other castaways. He knows the fear of the "Beastie" stems from the fear of the beast within all of them.
The Beast from the Water in "Lord of the Flies" symbolizes the boys' fear of the unknown, the darkness within themselves, and the primal instincts that threaten to overtake them. The Beast from the Air represents the fear of the external forces, such as the adult world, war, and the unknown dangers that may lie beyond the island. Both beasts highlight the boys' descent into savagery and their struggle to maintain civilization and order.
Several litery critics have interpreted the titles of those two chapters as being symbolic of Adolf Hitler's plans to invade Britain during World War II. Beast From Water is assumed to refer to the fears that Adolf Hilter was amassing troop carriers in the ports of France ready to launch his invasion of Britain from the sea. Using the same logic Beast From The Air could refer to the Battle of Britain, when Adolf Hitler launched air attacks on Britain with the intention of softening up the country prior to his planned invasion from the sea.
The beast in the lord of the flies is within each and everyone of them because at the end they start acting like animals killing pigs 24/7 and the Boar they slaughtered and how piggy was killed etc..
it symbolizes the cruelty in the boys the murderous thoughts like how at one point in the book Simon see the lord of the lies and he says that the beastie is inside the boys and that its not a creature
The beastie in "Lord of the Flies" is not an actual beast. It is said that it was the parachuter, but the boy's fears manifested themselves onto his figure to create a beast in their minds.
I think that the beast represents the fear that dwelt among the boys
Fear is pretty hard to overcome u know
The beast is meant to represent "the darkness in man's heart"- the evil inside everyone and the worst of human nature.
Water in Lord of the Flies symbolizes rebirth.

The beast has several names already in the book Lord of the Flies. It is initially referred to as a snake-thing or beastie. Later during his internalised conversation the beast is named as the Lord of the Flies. Finally the real nature of the beast is revealed as the darkness in the hearts of men.
There are many different symbolic images inThe Lord of the Flies, but the Lord of the Flies is a symbol himself. Towards the end of the novel when the Lord of the Flies speaks to Simon, is when his true symbolism comes out; the Lord becomes an indication of any type of beast and also a symbol of the power of evil. You could even take this answer as far as saying the Lord of the Flies symbolizes the devil whereas throughout the story, Simon portrays Jesus Christ (Biblical parallelism).Beelzebub, or a satanic/demonic representaion
The lord of the flies is the head of the pig that Jack and his 'tribe' killed, they left it on a stake as an offering to the beast (ie)
Simon was mistaken for the beast in "Lord of the Flies". He was killed by the other boys during a frenzied tribal dance on the beach.
adaptation to the island
Percival Wemys Madison (one of the littluns) first says the beast comes from the water.
