It is believed by his friends and fans that he did not commit suicide, and died from a bad combination of pain and insomnia medication, along with a large amount of alcohol. It is still up for debate on whether he commited suicide or not, just keep in mind that Rev specifically told Matt over the phone one night that he knew he would not live past 30. This more than likely because he knew his enlarged heart would play a part in his death sometime in the near future or his struggle with hard drugs continued to be apart of his daily schedule. Regardless of how he died James was definitely a genius. He viewed the world in a way that others did not, and like all geniuses he jumped into life, and never touched the bottom.

∙ 13y agoNo, the autopsy results were inconclusive, but on June 9, 2010, the cause of death was revealed to have been an "acute polydrug intoxication due to combined effects of Oxycodone, Oxymorphone, Diazepam/Nordiazepam and ethanol.

∙ 13y agohe died. December 28th 2009 he was found in his home in Huntington Beach CA from accedental overdose. (of what...i dont know sorry. o.o) Avenged Sevenfold got a new drummer, Arin Ilejay. the drummer on the album Nightmare was the drummer from Dream Theatre, Mike Portnoy. but yea, sorry if u didnt already know. Jimmy is dead, has been 4 2 years now. hes buried in his hometown.
