Answer Some adults abuse children, neglect, sexual, violent etc.. or engage in criminal or immoral behavior. Their children need to be accommodated away from the parents and the harm being inflicted upon them. This is usually with foster carers. When the parents change their behavior the child will …be able to return to the parents. Parental responsibility stays with the parents. If the parents fail to demonstrate change then the authorities may permanently remove the child from the parents at which time they may be freed for adoption and parental responsibility moves to the new parents. Usually when a child is with foster carers the child will maintain some contact with the birth family as the aim should be to return a child to its parents so long as the child will be safe from harm. Answer Whilst you should not foster for the money, there should be generous payments to allow people to do it professionally and to not have to work on top of looking after a foster child. Many children who have been abused need to work through the issues and have a supportive rewarding person to help them through it. The work is demanding and emotionally draining and is not at all like having your own children. ANSWER Foster care is the government taking a child from their family, some times for legitimate reasons, more times not, and placing the child in "foster homes" where people who generally are retired or do not work are paid on a per child basis to provide a "home like" environment. Answer . You can request foster care by going to your Children & Families and talking with a social worker.
It is very likely that Edgar Allan Poe's foster parents both diedof consumption, or tuberculosis. The obituary for both Frances(1829, age 43 - 45) and John (1834, age 54 or 55) Allan said theydied after a lengthy and (in Frances' case) painful illness.
Foster parents do not get paid. Foster parents are reimbursed for child expenses. They get a check every month. The amount of money a foster parent receives depends on what agency they are with. Usually it is enough to provide food and clothes and pay utilities. You will often hear foster parents co…mplaining about "How little" they receive. (MORE)
I have been a foster parent in Massachusetts for 8 years. You do not get "paid" to be a foster parent you get subsidy to help support the child that is in your care. currently we take in children birth-6 years old and the subsidy is $17.10 a day, I believe it goes up .50 when they turn 6 and then a …bit more when they are teenagers. You do receive $50 for them for there birthday and $100 for Christmas and then $107 every 4 months for clothing, other than that it's all you. You pay for anything and everthing else they need. There are some programs available to help pay for extra curricular activities such as soccer or gymnastics. (MORE)

They do what parents otherwise would do. Often do they already have biological children and take other children in. Others only have foster kids. They can work, have their own business or one stays at home. Just like a ordinary family . Some have more knowledge about children with autism which makes… them more suitable to take care of a child like that etc. (MORE)
This depends on the child. I work in a behavioral home for children age 4-12. The kids I work with have often hurt their caretakers during rages. Right now, I have bruises from a 10 year old girl whom I had to restrain so she wouldn't run away in downtown fort worth. My coworker is off because of a …back injury from these kids. If they are higher functioning kids, no way. But severely traumatized kids can be extremely dangerous to themselves and others. Another child has permanently damaged a baby from bashing the baby's head into a crib. She should not have been left alone with the baby, but still, most kids would not do something like that. You need to get good information on the type of kid you might get. Expect fits in the beginning, they will test your limits to see if you will keep them safe. But, don't agree to take specialized kids unless you are willing to get the bruises, lock up all knives, medications, and other potentially dangerous items. Also, in severely abused kids, they can make false allegations, so your reputation is something to consider. I would never ever ever as a single parent take in any child because of this. I've seen too many times kids get mad and make up a story that could not be true. People love to assume caretakers are at fault when things go wrong, because there are many who do not do a good job. But the good ones I think are at risk. I am saying a lot, but keep in mind I only work with behavioral kids. So I'm seeing the worst cases. There are many sweet kids who need good homes. Just insist on taking basic children. Anything beyond that could be dangerous. (MORE)
It depends on the rules of the state. Most do provide a stipend for the help in supporting the child. There are some that actually foster enough kids to support themselves, but this is rare and usually involves the kids being deprived of things they need. Yes you get money for covering the expenses …of the child. (MORE)
It was Alice & Harold. Harold also died of cancer, just as Dave Pelzer's real father did.
well that's a good question. you just piss them off so much they cant stand you or your behavor. (but don't get put in jail.)
In the USA: yes, you get a stipend or board rate for each child based on their age. Children with special needs are higher. For anyone thinking they are going to make money off of fostering, please do not do it, this is about helping children and reunification or adoption. So many misconceptions a…bout foster parents, when we fostered we paid out way more than we brought in, we devoted all our time into helping these children, they destroyed our personal property at times and we still had to treat them as if they are a guest in our home. It is hard and subsidies are not a form of payment for it. Foster parenting is for people that have the ability and funds to help out children for a short amount of time, and a few for a long amount of time. We went from fostering a child that was considered unadoptable to adopting her, she has had DCF called on us a few times over her behaviors, but we still love her and did not give up. We had taken her on at 8 years old in diapers not fully sure of her disorders, within 30 days she was out of diapers, in a public school and doing fairly well as long as it was a structured environment. Schools don't listen, other people don't listen when you say please do not take your eyes off of her. She beat one child with a baseball bat because someone wouldn't listen to us, another with a rock, and tried to strangle a boy that she was stalking at school. The schools don't like it when they call DCF and have it switched around on them because they did not listen. We found out she had Fetal Alcohol Syndrome just before adoption, DCF lies about the children they place in homes so they can get adopted. Since we cared about her so much we didn't want to stop the process over it. FAS is a horrible issue to deal with and many in care have it. I will not foster again, just so that you know, it isn't for me anymore, but that is because I could not handle another child that possibly has FAS or another disorder. Not all have issues, but most do. (MORE)
you can call child services but you need a reasonable excuss like your being beaten or raped or something horrible like that or if you have permission from BOTH parents
What happens when a child is in foster care and not allowed to be with mom but foster parent gives child to parent on weekends?
If this is by court order, the Foster Parent could be held in contempt and lose their certification.
umm well theres actually no rule against it. No one ever thought about it. So i guess that makes it NOT illegal.
Of course! There are over 41,000 children up for adoption in the USA the largest number of children ever adopted within in one year from the USA is 951 children. You have no idea how big of a difference it would make in a child's life.
First you need to contact our loca DSS and let them know that you cannot handle/take care of your children. you come in and fill out the papers and they can help yu from there.
I'm afraid it really isn't up to the parent, but it definitely depends on the situation in which they were removed from you. If there is work YOU can do personally to improve the odds then do it. Each situation is personalized so I suggest you talk to the social worker you or your children are invol…ved with. (MORE)

I feed mine. As a matter of fact, I also buy them clothes, take them to baseball practice and games, take them on vacation, etc. In my home, I treat foster children the same as my biological children in every way I can.
they could just be adopting for the money. foster parents get paid a monthly sum for taking in children.
In the US, foster parent and adoption assistance are administered by the States, so the rules and payment rates differ.
If you have told your caseworker that you have been abused by people in a foster home then the case worker should move you out and report the abuse to the police. If this has not been done then go to a police station yourself and report the abuse.
in order to cover the expenses of taking care of the children in their care.
First of all can a child never be left to you without a judge having a say. The will is just a request form the parent. You can seek for approval for being the child's foster parent, of course. Then it's up to the socialworkers.
the foster parent can have how many the want to have. No not quite. They have to follow some rules when it comes to how much space they have for each child and practical things like that.

Social Services will come inspect your home to insure that it issuitable for children. You must have a clean record must haveobtained a high school diploma or GED. The most importantcharacteristic that they cannot gauge is your intent. It's verydifficult work to be a parent to a child who is not you…rs. You musthave the right intentions for the sake of that child/children. Ifyou're in it for the money, then please do not proceed. Makecertain that your heart is in the correct place. (MORE)

Some responsibilities are, making sure your house is clean, having enough money, and having a safe environment for the child.
These are tax-related forms. Foster parenting is a serious obligation, not a hobby or sport, but it is not an occupation in the usual, remunerative sense- it is not a money-making job, so to speak.
He lived with his father (and mother?) until he went to be apprenticed to a professional painter. He needed no foster parents.
Because: - you love children and have a big heart for all of them and especially for those in need. - you have a great deal of patience. - you are very understanding and a good listeners which will come in handy since many of the children comes with a emotional baggage. - you are prepared fo…r that you are just a temporary home and want to help the kids to either go back to their parents when their situation has cleared up or into adoption. - you can treat them just like you treat your own so they don't feel distanced form the family (which they already do due to the situation, no need to add any) (MORE)
This is private information and if you a parent of hers you need to follow the proper channels and ask the social worker handling the case.
They live in there house and they ask the council if they can take some abandoned children and then they take care of them.....:)
Take a van, get some sweets, ask them if they want to see your puppie and a free ride home... Then take them for your own and tie them up... Simples ;)
Foster care and adoption is not the same thing. Yes, you get to meet your adoptive parents before they adopt you. That is not always the case with foster care since if a child is abused for instance the foster families are ready to receive you in the middle of the night sometimes, when it's needed. …Foster care is not meant to be permanent like adoption. Foster care is living with another family, that's all. Nothing special happens. You still go to school, get new friends etc.
