825 silver is a lower grade silver generally from the continent. Very common but unfortunately not worth very much.
There are lots of good quality antiques our there which if they were sterling ie 925 they would be worth many times the amount of the poorer quality silver. The workmanship and detail is just as good but the manufacture price was lower.
Regarding the jewelry, if it's new not worth a dickie bird. If it's old worth far less than it should be.

Of every 1000 parts (100%) of the metal, 825 (82.5%) are gold. So in the item there are 175 parts (17.5%) that are not gold As gold is soft then usually other metals added to make it harder.
10k Edit by Cjulsh 10k is incorrect. 10k jewelry would be stamped 417 which is the amount of gold content. 10k is 41.7% gold. 825 is a lower grade of silver...most silver pieces would have a stamp of 925 which is 92.5% silver. Some pieces will use a lower grade silver 825 or 82.5% silver.
That probably means it is the 825 th copy if it is somethin like a store bought necklace. If it is gold, iit means it is fake. ---------------------------------------- Most likely it is .825 grade silver if this ring is silver coloured . Still silver but lower grade than .825 sterling
I HAVE A bracelet WITH 825 STAMPED ON CLASP. It's so small. i checked it because this looks to have a higher shine, than just a silver 925 bracelet. So is 825 platinum or white gold and what should i get per gram.
it is the percentage out of 1000 that it is silver. so it is 825/1000 silver. I'm pretty sure. hope this helps.
825 as a fraction = 825/1
