Banquo had three prophecies:

1. "You are lesser than Macbeth but also greater."

2. "You are not as happy as Macbeth, yet much happier."

3. "Your descendants will be kings but you will not."

Hopefully that helps!

Banquo gets revenge on Macbeth by showing up at his dinner party as a ghost and making Macbeth behave like a madman. This ruins his reputation with his subjects and drives his wife to despair, since she only wanted to be queen for the nifty clothes and the dinner parties.

Banquo himself does not appear in Act IV. Not even his ghost does. The witches conjure a vision of Banquo smiling at all of his descendants who will be kings, just as the witches foretold in Act I. This shouldn't be news to Macbeth but he insisted on it ("I will be satisfied") It is not revenge; it is what was going to happen anyway. Now, what Banquo's ghost does in Act III Scene 4 is a revenge of a sort. The ghost haunts Macbeth and ruins his dinner party to get back at Macbeth for murdering him.

What are banquos dying words How might they relate back to the prophecies?

Banquo's dying words are: "O, treachery! Fly, good Fleance, fly, fly, fly! Thou mayst revenge - O slave!" What are some examples of revenge in Macbeth?

Macduff seeks revenge on Macbeth as a result of his family being murdered by Macbeth. Malcolm seeks revenge on Macbeth in order to regain his crown and avenge his fathers murder (an act of regicide). Banquos ghost seeks revenge on Macbeth as a result of his own murder (however this shows a blurring of boundaries between reality and fantasy because Macbeth is the only person to see the ghost it is unclear as to whether or not this was a hallucination as a result of his madness).
