The lion and the lamb, the cross, and the symbol of a fish are the main symbols of Christianity. The reason for the cross is obviously a reference to Jesus volunteering himself to be crucified and resurrected so that we can recieve salvation and be born again in Christ in the spirit. The fish symbol refers to when Jesus called some of his disciples who were fishing to follow him. John 21:1-25. It is also a reference when the fish and bread were multiplied to feed many. John 6:11-14; Luke 9:13-22; Matthew 14:16-21; Matthew 15:34-38; Mark 6:37-44; and Mark 8:5-9. The lamb symbolizes the first time Jesus came to earth and the lion symbolizes the second coming of Christ.
