In my opinion, greyhounds are faster. Wolves do have speed behind them but, they prefer to keep it concealed until it is needed. Wolves are designed to go over long distances without tiring. A fast trot or lope is what they like. A mad dash is used only when they are sprinting at the last second to get their prey. Greyhounds are a type of hunting dog. They do not have the same features as a wolf because they were bred specifically to hunt and chase prey for people. Kind of the same but also completely different.
Greyhounds are much faster, but do not have the stamina and staying power of wolves. They evolved to hunt their prey in a different way. The ancestor to the greyhound by speed. The wolf by persistance in patient pursuit until the prey gives up.
Wolves are more concerned about stealth than speed, anyway. Greyhounds don't have to hunt prey.
A wolf can quickly achieve speeds of 50–60 km/h and can maintain rapid pursuit for at least 20 minutes. The Greyhound can reach a full speed of 70 km/h, for 250 meters of a race. So to answer your question directly the gray hound is faster but the wolf can hold it's speed much longer
Yes, MUCH faster. Fastest greyhound ever (according to Guinness records) was 41.83 mph but wolves has been known to run 45 mph during hunt.
No. A greyhound can run approximately 45 miles per hour, while a coyote can only run about 37.
Overall, wolves are probably faster--but some dog breeds are very fast, e.g. greyhounds, and are probably faster than wolves.
no wolves are not faster than cheetahs!
Greyhounds are the fastest dog breed so they are faster than Afghan Hounds.
Grey wolves feed on mostly and animal that is smaller than it or one than is already dead.
panthers run faster than wolves
It is widely believed to be the greyhound, however, I own a lurcher, border collie/greyhound crossbreed, that can run faster than a greyhound, but does not possess its stamina, hence greyhounds are used in racing.
No, other than they commonly have all-white fur, much more common than with grey or timber wolves.
They can dig twice as much faster than we can with shovels.
The Fox Is Faster Then The Wolf Because Of It's Strong Legs. Here is another question I can answer:Would A Wolf Eat A Fox?No. the reason why is foxes can easily give you rabies.
Most of the time... Irish Wolf hounds aren't directly related to wolves so they are no the same thing
Another answer suggests Lions can run up to 50mph and that is "considerably faster", yet the Grey wolf averages 45mph and some Timber wolves have been recorded well over 50mph. So the answer is they're roughly the same and both are a heck of a lot faster than a human.
Wolves can hear better than humans.
