Yes, He is gay

Editing this answer again and again will not change Shahrukh Khan's sexual preference. I understand there are lots and lots of female fans who want to believe that he is straight but the fact is that he is bisexual. I am using the term bisexual as he is married to Gauri.

He will not disappoint you if you are a girl or a boy as he swings both ways but men are his first preference.

*Just popping in to add that there was a long term affair with Juhi Chawla as well, and he has been known to hire escort girls when out of the country as well as being rumored to have been caught with Koena Mitra. Sadly, however, his link ups with men seem to far outnumber those with women. This, naturally, breaks my heart since I am a woman. I think the flaunting of the Johar thing is starting to tell on his career and he knows it.

Adding that there is a person here who erases anyone else's answer to this question over and over so I'm trying to just expand on her answer as maybe then she will at least let others have a partial say and not erase me completely as before. Some of the "facts" above here though are not facts.

There have been many rumors for a long time and he has been asked repeatedly whether he's gay or bi-sexual or sleeping with Karan Johar for years in interviews. Usually he gives a humorous answer or not a direct answer. A few times he has said no but then he also said on a TV interview back in 2000 that if he was having an affair no one in the public would know because he's too good of an actor. He's said he has no problem with people thinking he might be gay or bisexual and that he's knows he has some effeminate qualities like the Hindu gods have. He's done comic things like in Kal Ho Na Ho or Filmfare awards a number of times alluding to being gay or about gays. Or the Lux ad or Intel ad which are plays on his feminine side.

Most of the rumors about his possibly being gay or bisexual revolve around director Karan Johar but in the last few years there have been increasing rumors about his relationship with close friend actor Arjun Rampal. Both Johar and Rampal have also gotten much press in the past about them being gay or having past gay relationships.

It's also been discussed and written that Shahrukh's marriage to his wife Gauri might be a 'beard' or arranged marriage of the type that is called a 'lavender marriage' which happened early in his movie career when it because apparent he was going to be a big star and was going to get alot of scrutiny from the press for years. He married Gauri when he was 26. The only known fact is that he has never even dated another woman or girl in his life at any time. The best known admitted gay actor in movies worldwide Rupert Everett has said that being gay has serious held back his career and that he can't get cast in romantic roles ever since he admitted publicly to being gay. No major star ever in movies has been admittedly gay in real life, so certainly any man would have strong motivation to hide it if you are anything but heterosexual and want to be and remain a movie star, as Shahrukh Khan very much wants to. As he himself says he's "the #1 employee of the Shah Rukh Khan myth".

As to the real facts behind Shahrukh Khan's sexuality that will have to await the day someone who knows him speaks about it openly or someone writes an investigative biography of him. So far he has only had biographies written by friends or people who are indebted to him. Most probably no one will write or speak about this subject openly as long as he is alive as he is a very powerful person in Bollywood and with the press.
